Antiwar Songs (AWS) - The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia
What Mr. Reuschling does by having written his book was pure literary artistic creativity at its finest, to take a song, take the story that its lyrics tell and reformat it into prose, into the structure of a novel. A good majority of books that I have read in my years of reading has shown me that a lot of authors choose to dedicate their books to someone or some special people in their lives; sometimes even a mentor.
Instead, Mr. Reushling dedicates his book to whomever is reading the book, to the readers who have taken the chance on him and on the book by purchasing it and reading his literary contribution. This is clearly a writer not only with talent but with a true and noble heart which is something very special because I believe that as a reader, one can tell that a lot went into writing this book. Some may say blood, sweat, and tears when talking about an athlete at a sporting event that has given it all in their performance.
Reuschling certainly gave dedication, innovation, and passion when writing his book; parts of his mind, body and soul will forever be encased in every copy purchased of The Night The Lights Went Out in Georgia. This book is by a novice writer; it's his first published book, and I must say that Mr. Reuschling did one hell of a job considering.

It's one those books that has a juicy plot, well-crafted characters, and a web of lies and affairs, and in the heart of it all, murder. It's a general southern mystery with all the southern charm and wholesome small town glamor. It is a wonderfully written story that at first seems as though it's going to be quite small and enclosed, as if it should be a short story. However, it quickly takes off and proves to the reader that it is a longer length of work though in all, the book isn't all that long and is quite manageable in a sitting or a few.
The question soon arises as to what such an elderly sweet woman could be hiding. It's a story full of twists and turns as if it were a novelization of a crime show on Tru TV or Investigative Discovery. What secrets does old Mrs. Sarah McAlister hold, and why has she waited so long, on her death bed, to let her secret out?
What to Read Next
I gave this book a Goodreads rating of four out of five stars as I rarely ever give anything a five-star rating unless it knocks my socks off. Truth is, I would have given this book a three-and-a-half, if that were possible. It's a genuinely good book, an even better book when considering it's the author's first publication, so what is the weakness of this book, and where are the weaknesses found? Well, I am not fond of the cover art, which doesn't take away from the writer's craft of writing by any means, but from a marketing standpoint, it's a rather generic cover artwork, dark purple with what appears to be air to ground white lighting.
Yes, the night the lights went out? Okay, so the cover artwork isn't the best, and the font used for the cover is also a poor choice as it is also generic looking and doesn't seem fitting for the story within the book. Enough with the nagging on the exterior; time to crack the spine and take a gander. I always appreciate a dedication page and acknowledgments.
However, something is lacking. The most that a reader can learn is on the back cover of the book, on which it is clear that this is Jeremy's first piece to be published and that his favorite author growing up was Michael Crichton. Also, Mr.
